In general, you must be age 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B to
purchase a BCBSAZ Medicare supplement plan*. BCBSAZ Medicare Supplement plans have
no waiting period for pre-existing conditions, however, you may be subject to medical
underwriting when you apply.
Senior Security
Senior Security is a Medicare supplement plan which offers three of the standard
options (Plans A, C, and F) to meet your needs and budget. With Senior Security
you have the flexibility to select the physicians or hospitals of your choice. Plus,
you have no waiting period for pre-existing conditions.
Senior Preferred
With Senior Preferred Plan C, you'll have lower premiums than with Senior Security
Plan C. However, you must use physicians and hospitals in the BCBSAZ Senior Preferred Medicare Select provider network (except in emergencies). There are over 11,000 providers in the Senior Preferred network
in Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal counties. Plus, you have no waiting period for pre-existing
conditions. (Available to residents of Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal counties.)

* Depending on your birthday, you may be eligible to apply if you are enrolled in
Medicare Parts A and B and you are 64 if you are in your 65th birthday month or
you turn 65 the first day of the month following your Medicare Part B coverage.
